School Flyer System Combats Summer Learning Loss
Traditionally, schools were unable to send information to parents during the summer since students needed to be present to carry home paper flyers. This lack of information about enrichment opportunities has contributed to summer learning loss among children.
According to the National Summer Learning Association, students typically score lower on standardized tests at the end of summer vacation than they do on the same tests at the beginning of summer. To help overcome this problem, schools and community organizations are now using an innovative school eflyer distribution system called Peachjar. Parents receive school-approved flyers directly in their inbox and stay informed about activities and events that help keep their child active and learning over the summer.
“Out-of-school programs are essential to a child’s development, especially during the summer months,” stated Mike Durham, Founder & CEO of Peachjar. “Peachjar is passionate about ensuring that children don’t miss out on opportunities to learn, stay active, and grow into healthy, happy adults.”
